Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Hands On and Preview

The year is coming towards it’s end and smartphone giants are launching their devices now to make a great ending for this year. Well, Sony has just done the same thing. Yesterday, Sony India launched the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact in New Delhi. Gadgetgyaan was also invited there, but we couldn’t make it on that day, but today, we made it. Sony India held a press conference in Chandigarh to launch the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact. These devices are the successor to the Sony Xperia Z2 and Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.


The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is having a 4.6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display and this display supports a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 and thus, it is a HD display. This device offers a pixel density of 319ppi. At the press conference, Mr. Sachin Rai head of Xperia Marketing team announced that this device carries a good display but it is not having gorilla glass display and we have seen the display live and it was an amazing display. The display was also quite bright.33The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is 8.6mm thin and on hardware front, apart from screen on front there are no buttons at the bottom and the company has already introduced those buttons in the user interface. On the top, there is a 3.5mm AV jack along with noise cancellation port. On the back of this device there is a 20.7-Mefapixel EXMOR RS camera.32On the bottom there is nothing and on the left hand side of this device there is your dock which you can use to connect your PS4 to this device. On the right hand side, there are volume rockers, power button and a hardware camera shutter button.31The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is having a 20.7-Megapixel rear camera and the company claimed that it is having the new 25mm G Lens and it is world’s first smartphone with ISO 128000 sensitivity for superior photos even in low light. It has Bionz processo and this device can shoot videos in 4K mode too. So, you can watch these videos in full 4K mode in your Sony Bravia TV. The wide angle is also introduced and with the help of that you can bring more people in an image.  15This device also comes with a hardware shutter button. When this device goes under water then the LCD screen turns off and for clicking images under water, you can use this hardware button and thus, this device is capable of taking images under water as well. There is a 2.2-Megapixel camera present on the front for making all the video calls. It is packing a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor along with 2GB of RAM. Thus, this device will do very good in the multi-tasking. 22The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is just not a water resistant and dust resistant device, It is water proof and dust proof device and the company assure that it is 100% water and dust proof It is both IP65/68 certified.36The internal storage of this device is 16GB and you can expand the external storage upto 128GB via a microSD card. We have already use the camera of this smartphone and we are quite impressed. As when you will take a close look on an object with this camera, it will automatically turn on the macro mode. Also, the video recording capability is super fine.5The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is a solid device and it feels solid in our hand. It is quite slim and this device will be available in White, Green, Black and the Orange color. 29The Xperia Z3 Compact is running on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system and we are sure that it will receive the future software updates as well. The user interface of this device looks quite good.41The Xperia Z3 Compact is having connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB port and a 3.5mm AV jack as well. Moreover, it is a 4G LTE ready device and Mr. Sachin said that it will be working with all the bands here in Indian spectrum. So, for now only Airtel’s 4G LTE network is there but we will soon see the other companies enrolling themselves in this area.24There are 20+ applications for this device and these apps are for camra only. Some of the applications which we witnessed were AR Fun, Multiple camera control and Face In.38The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is priced at Rs. 44,990/- and this device also supports the hi-res Audio and the speakers were also showcased over there and the sound quality was quite fine The high res audio will bring you more close to the originality of the song.25So, there you go guys that was the first hands on and preview of Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. Do stay tuned for a very detailed video on this device. Overall, on the first time this device looked quite good. Also, the battery life is fantastic as it can last for  days and even for 10 days when you are in power saving mode. So, if you go to Ladakh where there is no electricity you will find it as the big support.
