Sony has held an event today where the company introduced the next gen smartwatch. Well, these a days a lot of companies are taking care of our health and Sony has been serving us for a lot of years now. Last time, the company has not introduced the smartband with the heart rate sensor, but this time the scenario is different. The things are quite better on this Japanese company’s side. So, Sony has launched the second-generation Smartband today, which is also known as Sony Smartband 2. It has similar functionalities like the previous band but this time they had added the heart rate sensor which the comapny says it can measures your pulse.
The first-generation Smartband was launced last year along with the popular device , the Xperia Z2. So almost after the gap of 15 months, this new Smartband 2 has been introduced by the company.
Anyway, the Sony Smartband 2 comes with a 58mAh battery and uses the Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC to connect with the device. The band weighs only 25 gms and also comes with the IP68 certification which means the band is now dust-proof and water-proof which makes it to resist the water in deep three meters and upto 3 minutes(depends upon the pressure of the water).
For the compatibility , it can connect with the devices running on Android 4.4 Kitkat and above . For the Apple users , they must have iOS 8.2 running on their iPhones.
The Sony Smartband 2 has been priced for $132(will be around Rs. 8700) and the band will be launched next month in 60 different countries and there is no surity whether it will be available in India next month. It will face the rivals like FitBit Charge and the Runtastic Orbit. This seems to be a good product, but we will see it in the near future. So, for now do stay tuned for more tech news.
