Earlier this year, Samsung introduced their beast phones. Yes, we are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Both these phones are amazing and they came with headphone jack individually! Then, Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus arrived in September. They are coming with some good features, but the design is still the same apart from the antenna lines which are now placed in a different position.
Today, we are going to talk about the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Apple iPhone 7 Plus. We are not going to compare it here side by side as we have already done that and we will stick to the title that why we think that Apple iPhone 7 Plus can’t beat the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
Why Apple? Why are you falling behind?
Design and Display: In terms of design, we can see that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is coming with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, which supports a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, while the iPhone 7 Plus is coming with the 5.5-inch Retina display, but the screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. So, the pixel density of iPhone 7 Plus is lesser as compared to the S7 Edge, which clearly means that the S7 Edge display is crisp and sharp.
The videos, movies and games are going to look better on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge because of the color depth and pixel density, which are better than the iPhone 7 Plus.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is also coming with a Corning Gorilla Glass back panel, which is going to protect the back of this handset, but there is no protection provided by Apple on the back of it’s iPhone 7 Plus. Also, we can not forget the dual-edge display. This technology helps the consumers to get notification in different style. These notifications can be accessed quickly even if the phone is turned up-side down, the consumer will be able to know who is calling by seeing the color appearing on the edges. The colors are selected by consumers.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is slightly thicker than the iPhone 7 Plus, but the dual edges will not allow you to think about that. The Edge is also coming with an always On display, which can not be witnessed with the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. The build quality of both these devices are god, but with the dual-edges Samsung is more appealing in terms of design as compared to the iPhone 7 Plus. Processor, Connectivity and Protection: The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is coming with an Exynos 8890 Octa-Core processor while Apple iPhone 7 Plus is coming with the A10 Quad-Core processor.
So, there is the difference the GPU performance is also better in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus and S7 Edge, both are high end devices. They do not lag with the performance. But the loading speed and multi tasking in S7 Edge is better than the iPhone 7 Plus.
The iPhone 7 Plus is coming with 3GB of RAM, but S7 Edge comes with 4GB of RAM. The users can not expand the external storage via a microSD card in Apple, but they can do that with the Edge.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is coming with the I68 certification. This means it is dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. While the Apple iPhone 7 Plus is coming with I67 certification. This means it is dust and water resistant, but still it is not dust proof. Still, we are happy to see that iPhone 7 is not creating bend gate jokes.
Both these devices share nearly same connectivity features, and we can not find a winner with the connectivity segment as both of them are good.
Camera and Operating System: The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is coming with a 12-Megapixel camera, which supports OIS and 26mm phase detection autofocus. On the other hand, iPhone 7 Plus is coming with dual 12-Megapixel cameras and the smartphone is also supporting OIS. The dual lens of iPhone 7 Plus supports 28mm and 56mm phase detection auto-focus.
Both these devices are capable of shooting 4K videos. But the Galaxy S7 Edge allows you to shoot 1080p FHD videos at 120fps. It is absent in the iPhone 7 Plus. If we talk about the camera quality. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge provides you images with decent quality. Apple iPhone 7 Plus also provides you the same type of images. But during the low-light conditions the S7 Edge takes the lead again.
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus comes with dual-lens and supports telephoto camera. It is better than the S7 Edge as it creates a huge blur behind the focused objects. So, the dual-lens of iPhone 7 Plus are better. But when we zoom in a picture,We often find that the pics are pixelated in the iPhone, but we haven’t found this issue in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
The front facing camera of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is better than the iPhone 7 Plus. Because it provides you different types of modes. Apple lags behind with the camera user interface as they are not providing a lot of modes in their camera UI. In the low-light conditions again we can see that the S7 Edge is taking the lead over the iPhone 7 Plus. The camera of iPhone 7 is slightly better than the iPhone 6 and 6S. Most of the users said that they find slight differences. But, they were expecting huge difference, which left many of the Apple fans heart-broken.
The S7 Edge is running on Android, while iPhone 7 is supporting the iOS 10 platform. Well, we can not compare these two operating systems. Because consumers have their own demands and it is better for them to decide the operating system. But, with the S7 Edge you will get the TouchWiz UI which is an add-on to the stock Android. Now, Google Assistant is also on it’s way for the S7 Edge. So, the Apple users can’t troll Samsung users with Siri anymore.
Better Luck Next Time Apple, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Rules!
So, the verdict is clearly in front of us. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus is stormed out by the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. If you want a phone with a Telephoto camera, then you should go with the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. But if you don’t want this feature then, you should go with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge definitely. Samsung is just a lot ahead with their technology. Apple needs to understand the level of technology the Korean giant is using.
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus is priced at Rs. 72,000 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is now available in the market with a price tag of Rs. 50,900. A difference of Rs. 21,100!! Now, it totally depends on you, which one you want, we have cleared our point of view. Do you agree?
