Nexus 6P Hands On

A few months ago, Google I/O 2015 summit was held, where the company announced the Android Marshmallow and after then, we knew that the Nexus handsets are coming very soon. Well, Nexus devices are released by Google as it is a Google brand, but these are developed or manufactured by different companies. Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG and Huawei have been a part of Nexus family. Yesterday, Google India held its press conference in New Delhi, where they announced the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. This post is all about the Nexus 6P Hands On Experience. So, let’s start talking about this handset.

Nexus_6P_Rear_CameraThe Nexus 6P is coming with a very good design and the handset looks very premium in our hand. As compared to the Nexus 5X the device is made up of metal and thus it will give you a premium feeling over the Nexus 5X. The design is very similar to that of the Nexus 6, but specifications are improved this time. The Huawei-made Nexus 6P is coming with a 5.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, which offers a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The display also offers a pixel density of 518ppi. Also, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The Nexus 6P is coming with a screen to body ratio of 71.6%, which is again very impressive. The handset doesn’t feel bulky and it is kind of light weighted device. It weighs about 178g and it is 7.3mm thin. Nexus 6P is not the thinnest device of the world, but still at this price range you are looking at the beast. The price tag of this device was a little higher than our expectations as many people have thought that it will be launched under Rs. 35,000/-, but never the last it is going to give a tough competition to the Motorola Moto X Style, iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

The Nexus 6P is coming with dual front facing stereos and at the top of this handset you are not going to find anything apart from headphone jack and at the bottom end there is your USB Type-C port, which means that it enhances the fast charging capability. So, in the future we are going to see a lot of phones with USB Type-C port.

Google_Nexus_6P_Note_5The Google Nexus 6P is also coming with a fingerprint sensor and the search giant is calling it as the Nexus Imprint, which is a fingerprint sensor present on the back of this device. It is a Single-SIM device and the users can also find the SIM Card removal tool inside the box. The handset supports 4G+LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC. The search giant tried to make it very feature rich and they have succeeded.

The Nexus 6P is running on Android Marshmallow, which is an another key feature about this handset. Well, the Nexus devices are going to be one of the first handsets to come with Android 6.0 out of the box. Anyway, Android One Series phone are also receiving the Android Marshmallow update and we are looking for the other smartphones to receive their updates as well. The Android Marshmallow now allows a user to do vertical scrolling and they are now done with the horizontal scrolling.

Nexus_6P_Camera The Nexus 6P is coming with a 12.3-Megapixel camera which is capable of recording 4K Ultra HD videos at 30fps and the device is coming with an 8-Megapixel camera which is present at the front. The Nexus 6P camera is quite good and we have tested this camera during the low light conditions and the pictures were quite awesome. At this moment, we are not carrying any camera samples, but we are going to do the complete Review of this handset where you can find the full camera review and camera samples as well.

The Nexus 6P is also used for taking selfies and the 8-Megapixel sensor present on the front is also very good and in the video below you can check out the camera quality of this device. The Google Nexus 6P is using a very good sensor, the shutter speed was quite fast. The handset feels very good in terms of holding the device. The handset is coming with an internal storage of 32GB/64GB and the 128GB model of this phone is not available in India yet.

Nexu_6P_Android_MarshmallowThe SAR value of this device is decent and more than that the handset is not coming with any kind of user interface. So, you are looking at a phone with stock Android and Motorola is also using the same. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 Octa-Core processor which is a combination of Quad-core 1.55 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A57. It is also coming with the Adreno 430GPU and we will check out the gaming performance of this device very soon.

Nexus_6P_Speakers There are no physical buttons present underneath the screen, they are included within the screen. The display is not fingerprinted magnet and the back of this device is quite good. The speakers were very nice and there is no microSD card slot, which means that the users can not increase the external storage. Overall, the handset feels very good in terms of features, but we have to test this thing out before babbling about it freely.

The Nexus 6P is going to be charged in a very short while and the device is coming with a 3450mAh battery which is going to take care of your battery life and we think that the battery life should be decent this time. One more thing is sure that the handset is going to receive the Android N update as well, but it is priced at Rs. 39,999 in India and there are a lot of competitors to it.

The Nexus 6P is available both online and offline and the users can buy these devices now. The festive season has already begun, which means that the handsets are going to be cheaper than before and surely, Google is bringing a lot of offers along with the purchase of this device. So, that is all for now. Watch the Nexus 6P Hands On the video below.
