The competition in the budget smartphone segment is already heated up and it is expected to go up further as Motorola is planning to update its budget Moto E smartphone. The second generation Moto E is set to feature hardware improvements over its predecessor just like this years second generation Moto G.

The second generation Moto E will feature a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Under the the hood it is rumored to be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1 GB of RAM, most probably the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC or maybe it could even feature the newer Snapdragon 410 SoC. It is also said to have a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash. In connectivity, it even might provide LTE support. The smartphone will surely come pre-installed with the latest Android 5.0.

There is still no word regarding the pricing of the smartphone but one thing is sure that it is going to be cheap and affordable just like the first generation Moto E. Also, it is unclear when exactly is Motorola going to launch the new Moto E.

With this sort of specifications surfacing for the new Moto E, all we can say is that the budget smartphone segment is surely going to see some good competition. Stay tuned, for more updates regarding the new Moto E.
