The year 2014 was started with a great enthusiasm as we have lot of expectations from thus year as it was the year where we were about the see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Apple iPhone 6 and much much more. Anyway, this year kicked off with a great start as in the beginning of the year we witnessed the Consumer Electronics Show. There we have seen many phones and new phone series. Asus was also there to introduce their Zenfone series. Today, we have got the Asus Zenfone 5 for review but we are beginning with it’s unboxing.

Asus Zenfone 5 is having a 5-inch multi-touch IPS capacitive touchscreen display which offers a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This device also offers a pixel density of 294ppi. It is quite good display as it is the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display. It is quite light weight and it weighs about 145g. It is 148.2 x 72.8 x 5.5mm in dimensions. It is a dual-SIM device and is having connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB port and a 3.5mm AV jack as well. It is running on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system and it will receive the Android KitKat update very soon.
This phablet is packing a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor along with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage of this device is 8GB and you can expand the external storage upto 64GB via a microSD card. This device is quite big and is normally bigger than a 5-inch smartphone. At the lower end of this device there is a nice shiny metal which looks quite similar to that of the HTC One M7 which was launched last year.
The Asus Zenfone 5 comes with an 8-Megapixel camera present on it’s back which is capable of shooting 1080p HD videos. There is a single LED flash present on the back also. A 2-Megapixel camera is present on the front side for making the video calls. We have tested the camera a little bit and we think it is a good one.
The Asus Zenfone 5 is having a nice bezel running all around the device. This smartphone is also quite solid and it feels solid in hand. It is having the Zen UI. Also, there are many applications installed in this phone and the question is that whether it will give the right value to your money or not. So, you can find all your answers in our review.
