Samsung starts rolling Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5

A piece of good news for Samsung Galaxy S5 owners as Samsung has started rolling the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the devices in Europe, starting with Poland. The Galaxy S5 model that has received the update is SM-G900F.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has got the TouchWiz UI running over the new OS. Among the improvements introduced, the users will be happy to find out that the speed and responsiveness of the smartphone has improved greatly and all the credit goes to the new Android RunTime ( ART ). Google’s Material Design makes the UI a lot better and attractive. However, the users will not find any big difference in the User Interface from the earlier KitKat version.

Among the other changes, a new lockscreen with notification support, tap & go, priority mode, heads-up notification, Smart Lock, MirrorLink and more has been implemented. Also, there has been a big improvement in the fingerprint recognition as Samsung is said to have updated the S5 fingerprint driver and also introduces a new fingerprint lockscreen as seen on Note 4.

The models available in the Indian market are SM-G900H (Exynos Octa-Core version) and SM-G900I(Snapdragon Quad-Core version).

Samsung will still take some time to roll its Android 5.0 Lollipop update for all the S5 users worldwide but rolling of the update in Europe is surely a positive indication and after all this the first time that Samsung has rolled up an update this quick for their users. We will surely update you as more news regarding the update surfaces.
