Electronic Arts one the most prominent names in gaming industry has sued Zynga after it found its key elements of ‘The Sims Social’ game to be copied by Zynga in it’s own game ‘The ville’. EA has filled a 40-page suit in a U.S district in San Fransisco.
‘The Sims’ game was launched back in August 2011 while ‘The Ville’ game was launched this June and EA pointed that the avatars, homes and many more features resembled similarity to the EA’s game or copycat of it.Lucy Bradshaw, general manager of EA’s Maxis label said,”Zynga’s design choices, animations, visual arrangements and character motions and actions have been directly lifted from the Sims Social.”EA has seen a huge increase in competition in recent times, especially from these kind of online games and these kind of actions are not a surprise to rip off competition. This is not the first time Zynga has been sued and it’s not going to be the last. On Friday EA’s share prices were up 4% at $11.42 and Zynga’s shares were up 2.6% at $2.77.
